Another week has come and gone and it’s hard to put into words all that we experienced and felt in our one week together. Beautiful friendships were formed; outstanding young adults took on a leadership role with grace and dedication; love, forgiveness, laughter, prayer and fellowship filled our days. We all can say that we grew closer to Christ and His church in some way during our Session 3 of Fanari Camp. After some pictures, hugs and exchanging of phone numbers, our week is complete and the campers have all returned home.
Rounding out the theme of our week, “Come Let Us Worship”, we ended our morning celebrating the Divine Liturgy with Fr. Chris Mihalopoulos and Deacon Chris Avramopoulos. What a beautiful site to see all our children worshipping together! We concluded with a memorial service for our beloved Fr. Bill Chiganos and all those Fanari campers and counselors who have fallen asleep in the Lord. May their memories be eternal!
At the conclusion of our service, the campers sang “Lord of the Powers” one last time, as they departed to breakfast. We pray that they will continue to carry their Fanari agape with them each and every day of their lives.
Counselors, Staff and Clergy, we thank you for the love and care that you’ve given to our campers and camping program. This week is not possible without your dedication to the youth of our Metropolis and we are very thankful for you!
Farewell, Session 3 campers. Onward to our final Session!
