Session 3 of Fanari Camp has begun and we are so excited to be back at camp and starting another blessed week together!
After the arrival of all our campers, we enjoyed dinner together–all 146 of us– and then began our orientation with Deacon Chris, where he talked about our rules and what to expect this week at our new facility. We met all our amazing and spirited counselors and learned what cereal is their favorite!
We also went through a rotation of each of our activities: Orthodox Life, Bible Study, Theater, and our new activity “Flex”, where we will rotate with Greek Culture, Diakonia, Arts & Crafts and Athletics each day. Afterwards, we enjoyed an ice cream social and had fun listening to music, dancing around and singing along. What a fun 1st night at Fanari Camp!
As our night came to an end, we gathered in the Main Lodge for our chapel service, lead by Fr. Chris Mihalopoulos from St. Demetrios in Chicago. Campers went back to their cabins to do their first devotionals with their counselors and got settled in for the night.
What a wonderful beginning for our Session 3 campers and staff! We look forward to all the memories we’ll make this week together. Goodnight from Fanari Camp Headquarters….see you tomorrow!
